Unofficial ports of CorsixTH
« on: February 15, 2011, 11:15:42 PM »
Collection of any ports to anything other than Windows, Mac and Linux (or odd/old circumstances of those). It's mostly mobile platforms.

Note that these ports may use earlier versions of CorsixTH and possibly contain bugs not related to the actual game!

Windows Phone - SDL is not yet available
iOS - Dependencies are ported
Android (download) - http://www.armedpineapple.co.uk/projects/corsixth-for-android/
Android (development) - https://github.com/alanwoolley/CorsixTH-Android
N900/Maemo - http://maemo.org/packages/view/corsixth/
HaikuOS - http://haikuware.com/directory/view-details/games/strategy/corsixth-beta4
Wii (Wiibrew/jailbreak) - http://wiibrew.org/wiki/CorsixTH
OpenPandora - http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=CorsixTH-CorsixTH-22523

Any others?
Has anyone had a chance to play CorsixTH on a small screen, what gameplay issues were there? If it was on iOS/Android then a lot of people could play it on the simulators to test the port and gameplay.

I've downloaded and played around a bit with beta 5 on my n900 (Maemo OS).  For the most part it works just fine, if a little slowly.  Two issues in particular that I would like to see addressed if at all possible:

1. As I recall right-clicking an object will pick it up.  However there isn't a way to right click with a touch-screen.  Some Maemo programs can do this by having you hold down a key on the keyboard while clicking to do a right-click.  I'm not sure if this is already part of this and I'm just not finding it or what.

2. It can be a little difficult on the touch screen to get the top menu bar to show, and to then select what you want when it does.  Maybe add an option in the config to set it to always show, or maybe a key toggle.  Again, something that may already be in the beta that I just don't know about.

It's awesome so far though, so thanks to all of you that are coding this.

I appreciate that it's usually bad practice to reply to old threads, but I've been working on an Android version of CorsixTH recently and since this thread has done a reasonable job of collecting and linking to projects like this, I think it belongs here.

The source (and some downloads) are available here: https://github.com/alanwoolley/CorsixTH-Android. There's a few bits and pieces on my blog too: http://www.armedpineapple.co.uk/tag/corsixth/

Obviously some things that don't quite work yet, but I'm slowly getting through these and I'd like to share it with you all now for some feedback and thoughts.

Cool! :-) I can't run it though using the APK, it can't find CorsixTH.lua.

I've uploaded a new version which doesn't require the manual step of copying over the game scripts. I suspect this is why you were getting the error. It still needs the original TH files on the SD card though in a directory called 'th'.

I've updated the instructions on GitHub to make it a bit clearer.

Can't see any APK? In my opinion, not worth the effort.

Took me a while to find the .apk
Over on the right there's a link labelled "Downloads" (It's on the same line as "Files" "Commits" and "Branches")
You'll then get a list of versions, the latest on top.
Clicking the link will give you a QR code that can be scanned with Google Goggles (Or similar QR scanner).

Runs great on my Nexus One! :D (EDIT: Occasionally crashes the phone on load, not so great)

Cant seem to find the APK? Anyone able to point the way?

Scratch that, found it.

Any chance this will come to WP7 in the future? I know its not as popular as android, but would still be good.

In the updated version of the Android port I get the same error again I got in my earlier post above. What should I do?

Have you tried the latest version (0.2.1)? There was a bug which caused the file path to get a bit corrupted, but I think I've fixed that now. If not, try pressing the menu key + running the setup wizard again.
