Training for all staff
« on: March 11, 2011, 02:09:06 AM »
I was thinking that it would be cool if we could add training and skills for all staff and not just doctors. I would like to see something like this.

DOCTOR. (keep the same)
- Surgeon
- Reserch
- Phyco

NURSE
- Medicine (For Pharmacy)
- Blood (For Blood Machine Room)

HANDYMAN
- Maintenance (To be able to fix machines)
could also include a drinks machine break and repair function.

RECEPTIONIST
- Could add a skill to improve functionality within the game!

This above is only an example but I feel this would add a little more to the game and would make better use of the training room. Also why not add additional staff to the game such as "Security Guard" and add distruptive patients or protestors.

I like this idea.
Nurses always felt like secondary characters in the original, so giving them a trainable Pharmacology or Phlebotomy qualification could make 'em more dynamic.

However, I don't think Handymen are likely to be trained at the hospital site.

I also wonder if it's possible for doctors to specialise in a particular disease - say a doctor who was a specialist in Slack Tongue would get a speed bonus in the slicer clinic...?

I was thinking of implementing matron nurses that could be used to train other nurses. I might also implement a different uniform for junior nurses. When the facility to use alternative graphic sets becomes available, I will start looking at these things.
