This place really doesn't seem like a legitimate hospital. There are only a few windows and it smells of mold.

Well, you had to choose between this or an abandonded school which now serves as a toxic-waste dump and is rumored to be inhabited by ghouls.

You don't need to worry about your reputation, but don't be too careless! You got yourself only the cheapest drugs and machines. You will also find that trained doctors are rare and expensive around here.

Finally, if you don't want your business closed down, stay out of trouble with the loan sharks! They're your only option.

Patients cured: 750

Wow, that's an interesting design :D
I have to give it a go some time soon ;)

What's the idea with the fairly normally looking building in the south?

About the layout: You might have some problems at first placing the bigger rooms. The idea was that you'd have to buy the northern parts or that one single building. However, the path is quite long, as it goes left around the building. Maybe it's useful as a staff department.

When I tested this level, it had only a few rooms from the beginning and only 40% drug efficiency (now 80%), and I ended up with about -40.000$. Then I realised that drug research is not implemented yet, and that one couch in the staff room is not enough. Plus, i don't have that fix regarding salaries, because I'm too lazy to compile.

I made it a bit easier now, if you're still having problems you could try adjusting the start cash in the level file.

Updated 01-09-11:
- added a road, a new entrance facing the road and a "tail" that connects to the southern building. This way it has a more overall complete look. It looks a bit different than on the pictures now, but they can still give you an impression.
- added goals
- reworked the settings.

I like the hospital design very much, a welcome change from the big areas where you have ample room.

Thanks! I've redone the whole thing now.. I think it may be alot harder.

It's true that the number of patients decreases along with your reputation, right? 'cuz in this level it might drop to 1 and stay there for a while =D I based the population numbers on that so I hope they turned out alright.

Have you ever played/tested this level since you made the changes?

We came across an issue where you win in month 3 even though the criteria is not met.
On looking in the level file you have left in some lines with a 0 for criteria and I think the game will then use its own defaults from base config.

If however you delete those line from the level file it does not do this.

It might be worth taking a look into this and if needed make some changes.

Oh sorry, I did not see your post until now. Thanks, I wasn't aware of this issue.

This is also a problem with the level editor then. I thought it was fine because I had seen it on the example level. Well, I will work on fixing it then.

edit: already submitted to the trunk. "empty" goals will not be printed anymore by the level editor.
