So....where's the café in this place?
« on: October 15, 2013, 07:56:46 PM »
So how about it? Patients get hungry, doctors get hungry, and they all need to eat! This would involve some other changes that I think would benefit the game:

  • Change 'Receptionist' to 'General Staff' and have them instead specialise as either a receptionist, cook, or both. This opens up that slot to way more innovation.
  • Create a new room called cafeteria, and two new objects - tables and the lunch counter
  • You can change the quality of the food provided, the amount, etc, as per themepark
  • people then cue up and get dealt a vile blob of slop onto their plate (it could look better if the food was more expensive). This slop restores a new bar called Food.
  • feeding them bad food die quicker, feeding them good food prolongs them a bit, however the price is directly linked to happiness. Do you give them subsidised food to boost happyness or try to turn a profit?
  • staff may also go to the loo on their break?

Sounds great, the only problem I see is that with the current game mechanics, you want patients to leave your hospital as quickly as possible so it doesn't get crowded. I think it might work out if the cafeteria is only enabled for some custom levels, and if their health doesn't go down while in the cafeteria.
