Beta 5 Aborting when sound is enabled
« on: December 30, 2010, 12:43:47 AM »
Hi
I just discovered this clone of my favourite game and have successfully compiled Beta 5 on Mandriva Linux.
However when running CorsixTH it briefly displays the CD image splash screen and then aborts.
The only messages in the console are
$ ./CorsixTH
Notice: LuaJIT not being used.
Consider replacing Lua with LuaJIT to improve performance.
Aborted

If I disable sound in the config file it works OK
SDL_mixer is installed and was detected, If I monitor pulseaudio mixer when CorsixTH starts I can see it briefly opens an SDL channel in pulse.

Anyone seen this before or can suggest how to fault find the problem?
Thanks

Hi,

same problem for me, excepting I'm using Windows XP Pro, and I've taken the Beta 5 installer...

I can run the game only if I disable the sound  in the config file... like delboy.

I have found sound is OK if I run as root, or if I run as a normal user with any desktop manager other than KDE so it cannot be a permissions problem.  Other SDL based games run quite happily under KDE so I do not understand why CorsixTH should be the exception.

Still at least  I am now able to enjoy Theme Hospital again. Thanks
