-Is it a good idea to make a topic about how to make a realistic .level file? That we share some tips to make us become better in creating these files. Cause I am asking myself if it would be fun to extend the original campaign with a few more maps/missions that have higher challenges etc. In the end you want to create good .level files with this tool youve created. It would be a pity if the tool is available but the .level files are with stupid values.

Do doctors automatically get their salaries raised once they get a qualification or promotion? Or do they ask for a higher salary? I presumed that they have their salaries raised automatically. Guess my issue 607 on the issue tracker is not right then :O oopz

Maps / All Singleplayer maps and Multiplayer maps

Because some of us haven't played Theme Hospital multiplayer back in the day (you were too young or you didn't have 10 mb/sec as you now have  ;D) I was wondering if one could play the Multiplayer maps on singleplayer mode. When I asked Corsix he said that this was possible. I changed the value inside the .level file (in the Corsix-th levels directory) and I was able to play the Multiplayer maps!

You can play the singleplayer/multiplayer maps with youre own custom made properties (so change the diseases that you get on the level for example) You can change the original .bak or .sam files but its not something that you do directly. All of this was already possible but since I haven't seen it before here on the forums (or anywhere) I thought well let's bring it up. It aint new. Since I used the standard .level files that are provided with corsix-th, everything can be bought and all diseases occur directly at the start. If you want to alter the files (.map or .level) and create new rooms on the existing maps, be my guest  ;)

-Open corsix-th\level directory
-Copy example.level file
-Change values
%Name = "Example Town"
%LevelFile = "Example.map"

into (for example)

%Name = "Level 1"
%LevelFile = "Level.L1"

Multiplayer maps are listed higher than 12. Look into youre Theme hospital level folder for all the available multiplayer levels.

Or if you want more maps, you can edit the existing multiplayer maps to work on singleplayer. They are available but they cannot be played instantly. So in debug mode you can select levels 13-40 ;)

Does someone know how to do this?

I dont know about implementing those into corsix-th but what I do know is that you can view them.

-Go to http://www.radgametools.com/smkdown.htm
-Download The RAD Video Tools [1.2 MB] (it's freeware)
-Install it
-Run radvideo.exe
-Select your main directory of theme hospital and go to \Anims\ or \intro\
-Play the video-files

Youre just being taught certain skills and how to implement them into your hospital. After level 6 you get a hospital and you need to show the skills that you have learnt in order to succeed.

It would be fun if you could see the other players hospitals in the future, where you have a city and there are four hospitals and you need to compete with them in order to win. But thats just dreaming away ;)

Welcome to the island. Far a way in a distant place lays an island, an island which is connected to the shore. This island, heavily protected by its stone embankment, has been occupied by a new hospital. The ministery of health has asked you (because of youre well known-reputation and nationwide success) to lead this hospital and take care of all the patients that visit the hospital. The island is located far away which means that there isn't much personell available to hire. Because the island has a helicopter pad, you can receive emergency calls from the SAR aswell as other emergency helicopters so stay alert. You must achieve a balancetotal of $150.000, a reputation of 700, treat 85% of all visitors, and have a hospitalvalue of $150.000 in order to win. You will lose if you have a reputation below 300, killed 40% of all visitors, or have a balance of $-10000. Good luck and make the minister of health proud!

-Changed hospitalfloor to more warm one :)
-Added larger greenzone (wanted to make map smaller but instead did this)
-Fixed the helipad (Thanks JustChris!)
-Changed the starthospital staff (No surgeons available in the area, you only have 2)
-Added 1 psychiatrist at start to deal with much incoming psychiatrist patients
-Staff availability changed. Sometimes there is staff available to hire, sometimes there is no staff available.
-Raised drugeffectiveness
-Raised startcash
-Changed staffsalaries to more comfortable (still demanding though)
-Added more diseases known at the beginning (since I got annoyed receiving too much faxes, still much to research and you dont have equipment to cure :) )

-Replaced .level file (renamed "avatar" file because it had some updates within)
-Added briefing at beginning of the level
-Added two superdoctors to teach new junior doctors (no qualified doctors available in the neighbourhoud of the island)
-Added four winning conditions and 3 losing conditions
-Changed the number of doctors available each month and their skills
-Changed the minimum salary for each staff type into higher values
-Added the north and south shore (with trees and road)
-Changed the entry tiles to wood
-Changed Hospital floor and added floorpattern

*Version 0
-Released the map with config file

-Ability to change the rate of visitors in .level file
-Change hospital value (with multiplier or something)
-Change startreputation
-Set losing briefing when level is lost
-Set good winning and losing conditions (Corsix-th working on them, their still not good, Thats why I wait with these)

Installation instructions
Place The Island.map and The island.level in the \levels\ folder of your corsix-th installation

If you have found any bugs, please let me know using screenshots, I'll try to fix them (as far as my knowledge goes)

Why dont you download the pre-compiled revisions? They might be unstable but atleast you dont have to wait untill xmass to play with the latest changes ;)
