Off Topic / Re: Project-TH is changing!

The point of Project-TH (as stated on their homepage) is to make (basically) TH2, with independent graphics, new features, etc (like CorsixTH will eventually become :p). Jackyboyhenry is saying EA aren't allowing this to happen, because Project-TH wants to use its own graphics.

I find that hard to believe, but this post is just to clarify what's being said..

Hi there,

Firstly LOVE that people are doing this. I've missed this game! I can't advance beyond the first level though, and I also can't access maps etc. Is this because I'm running off the trial as a base, or is this normal?

Yeah. You need a full version of the game, but since it's abandonware, a simple google will bring it up.

A&E. The doctors go to the patients' beds, rather than the patients to the GP's office. Thinking about it, do real hospitals even have a GP's office? People go to hospital either by an Ambulance/ A&E (where their conditions are unknown), or they go prediagnosed. Wards would have to be a lot bigger.

It's a pretty big change to how the whole system works, really. If/when (hopefully when) modding comes into the game someone will be able to code it up.

Or if you want more maps, you can edit the existing multiplayer maps to work on singleplayer. They are available but they cannot be played instantly. So in debug mode you can select levels 13-40 ;)

Does someone know how to do this?

-Edit then you would have 17 original maps more to play

I was thinking more of having sequenced maps, which follow on from each other, than just new maps to play (there is already the editor). It could quite easily work (gameplay-wise) with the introduction of new, custom gameplay features, or having a common theme through all of the hospitals; for example, play through a series of hospitals in the first world war, where resources and staff are limited, diseases are unknown and you have the Spanish flu to contend with. I realise this would require the game to support modding in almost all areas, and that it might be seen as 'taking the fun out of Theme Hospital', but there's so much potential in this.

After a few hours of hard work (got to love modern software) these forums were completed and I hope you enjoy them!
That's SMF for you!

Good work though. It would be good if the Home link linked to the Google code page or something though. :) Oh, and if the automatically updated forums could be hidden from the View Unread posts view... thanks. :p

Is it possible for someone to replace all of the existing TH graphics with their own? If not, that would be quite a good addition, and would negate the need to have an existing install (unless there are other dependencies?).

I would like to see being able to pick an item up after placing it while building it.

I place a desk down in a GP room, but then I want to move the desk. ATM I have to reset the whole room and place everything down again.

Im accident prone like that
Right click on the item :)

Love the joke. I keep thinking the game needs more 'flashiness' and this would be a great place to start.
