Language Status / Re: French translation
« on: June 02, 2016, 06:11:03 PM »
1. If you know how to, make a fork of the Github project, a branch in that, a commit with your changes to the latest french.lua file then a PR where it'll be merged. If not then just update the french.lua file and send it to us in any convenient manner (eg a post on this thread).

2. Could you find out? When custom media will be usable in the future we could use corrections and new languages like yours.

3. It isn't coded for so those patients will never appear. It's a low priority but we are interested in that 'disease'.

Translations / Re: languages(chinese)for CorsixTH 0.60rc2-20160519
« on: May 26, 2016, 09:12:02 AM »
Thank you very much!

  • Do you give permission for this to be added to the project with the MIT licence?
  • Is this traditional or simplified Chinese?
  • Is this an improvement over the current Chinese translation? We would like to merge yours with what we have now if possible

Also please can you change (or permit us to change) the copyright line to include your name or nickname, the language inherited to English and the language short name to something suitable.

Graphics / Re: Staff Ideas - New Animations, traits, skills etc
« on: February 07, 2016, 09:23:18 PM »
Here's an idea for a staff trait - probably only for the doctors until the sexism is gone or switched off.

Instead of asking for a wage rise doctors can threaten to unionise/do something as part of an existing union. They could make demands like a plant in every GPs office, warmth felt throughout, a better staff room. If you paid off or fired the ringleader then the request might go away. If you leave it too long, ignoring too many of their requests they'll strike outside an outside door. Maybe it should only be junior doctors, only for a week in easy. In hard mode and later levels it could be all doctors for several months. Striking, holding signs, would be the only new graphics needed and a chance for some new humour.

Emergency Room / Re: Crash for no reason

Please try to recreate the problem in the latest version from If you can, then please post the gamelog file found at C:\Users\$(User)\AppData\Roaming\CorsixTH\gamelog.txt

New scripts for compiling on mac. Lets call it alpha v2. The first one will download the other two, but I welcome everyone to read them all for their own satisfaction and script improvements. They require Xcode and Xcode command line utilities, will take up about 100mb minus anything you already have, and produce a 5mb zip that doesn't include dependencies.

There isn't one that includes dependancies. To install them it's just
Code: [Select]
brew install lua53 sdl2 sdl2_mixer freetype ffmpeg
This works for me, we're planning to do better and include dependancies.

Here's the guide on compiling your own

The sexism is kind of a 90s British joke, and now it's nostalgia. It matches the newspaper front pages too. Maybe this could be one of the things where there's a classic/modern choice in the future.

Hospital Café / UK games press of Theme Hospital
« on: March 25, 2013, 08:59:33 PM »
A four page story on Theme Hospital as a retro game. You can open each image for a slightly bigger image.

Mentions other ideas, including four time periods and a cause of Bloaty Head.

Emergency Room / Re: Location of Original Copy
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:04:36 PM »
You can find the configuration file at C:\Documents and Settings\$(User)\Application Data\CorsixTH\config.txt, you will see a line like "theme_hospital_install = C:\ThemeHospital|", that path is the one to change. Save the file and start CorsixTH.

Hospital Café / Re: Mac OS X Theme Hospital CD Share Request

Here's the latest revision build. The original files you need are the same as if you were on Windows, you can buy it, find an old copy in your house, possibly even a retro games shop or car boot. It's also on TPB.

Edit:That build is 1607, Lion, GCC3 and no sound.

Hospital Café / Re: Deleting a destroyed room, and closing a hospital
« on: October 07, 2011, 08:33:01 AM »
I'd recommend turning debug on, restarting the level, opening the cheats console to give yourself all research and more money, then just rebuild it as it was. Turn debug on in this

Hospital Café / Re: What's the point of all the diagnosis rooms?
« on: September 30, 2011, 09:30:25 PM »
If the rooms have been researched, but you don't have them, some patients won't be fully diagnosed and you get a fax. This does partly depend on your settings ingame, the dial above the one where you say how tired staff should be before they go to the staff room.

Research Department / Re: Screenshot notification

Code: [Select]
   if tmpfilename~=nil then io.close(tmpfilename) self.ui.adviser:say("Screenshot Taken")
   else self.ui.adviser:say("Screenshot not taken") end
I would have hoped that works. ui.lua:577-9

Research Department / Re: Hand washing...
« on: April 13, 2011, 02:50:33 PM »
I don't make as many sinks as toilets because the toilet animation is longer. My rough experiments show that 5 sinks can serve 7 toilets, which is the max that can served by one door.

Maybe a consultant knows to go to a room, but a junior only knows to go to training. (My micromanagement usually consists of training everyone to consultant, or keeping all the juniors at the cure rooms but this may be specialised behaviour).
